Years in Syrian pharmacies
Thirty years of formulation, learning from Syrian skin and the climates around it.
Zeera opens in Damascus. The standard is set from the first batch: pharma-grade formulation by a licensed pharmaceutical chemist, manufactured locally, distributed only through pharmacies and medical representatives.

Established 1995
Zeera was founded in Damascus in 1995 on a clear premise: pharmaceutical-grade formulation, supervised by a licensed pharmaceutical chemist, manufactured locally, distributed where medical guidance already lived — the pharmacy and the dermatologist's office. Thirty-one years later, Zeera still formulates to those same standards, still manufactures in Damascus, and is still prescribed by dermatologists across Syria. Built for real skin conditions, with the active percentages stated on the label.

1995
A standard, set from the start
Zeera began in Damascus in 1995 with a single conviction: Syria deserved a skincare brand built to pharmaceutical-grade standards, formulated and manufactured in Damascus, available where medical guidance already lived — the pharmacy counter and the dermatologist's office. From day one, formulation was led by a licensed pharmaceutical chemist; distribution was reserved for medical channels. Thirty-one years later, every formula Zeera ships still follows that founding logic. Local hands. Licensed chemistry. Pharmacy distribution. Doctors who recommend it because they trust what's in it.

1997
Zeeranon-A
Two years in, Zeera launched Zeeranon-A Cream — a dermatology-grade cream for active skin concerns. It worked. Pharmacists started recommending it. Dermatologists started prescribing it. Twenty-nine years later it remains one of the line's most-prescribed products, and the packaging looks almost exactly the same as it did in 1997. That's deliberate. When patients recognise a product their pharmacist gave them last year, they trust it. We don't redesign what works.

2001
The Golden Fish
ZK Shampoo launched in 2001 — a medical shampoo for scalp conditions. The bottle carried a stylised fish on it. Within a few months, people weren't asking for ZK Shampoo by name. They were asking for "the Golden Fish." The nickname became how the product was identified across Syria. We never officially renamed it; we didn't need to. A quarter-century later, you can still walk into any pharmacy and ask for the Golden Fish, and the pharmacist will know exactly which bottle to hand you.

2005
Paris recognition
In 2005, the Business Initiative Directions group recognised Zeera with the World Quality Commitment Gold Award in Paris. The BID awards aren't bestowed — they're earned through a documented assessment of operational consistency, quality management, and customer commitment over time. For a Syrian pharma-cosmetics brand, ten years after founding, recognition on a Paris stage was independent confirmation that the discipline set in 1995 had held up under outside scrutiny. The trophy sits in the office. The standards it acknowledged still run the lab.

2007
A second confirmation
Two years after Paris, BID returned with the International Arch of Europe Platinum Award — this time in Frankfurt. A second recognition is harder than a first: it requires that whatever earned the original assessment didn't slip in the interval. By 2007, Zeera had expanded its line, was distributed through medical representatives across the country, and was being prescribed in clinics from Damascus to Aleppo. The Frankfurt award confirmed the trajectory was holding. Then the lab went back to work.

2011–2024
Continuity
Between 2011 and 2024, Syria changed. Factories closed. Foreign brands left. Supply chains broke. Currencies shifted overnight. Zeera kept producing. The medical representatives kept their routes. The pharmacies kept stocking the same formulas under the same packaging. The shelves stayed full. Continuity — for fifteen years, that was the whole story. It's why dermatologists who started prescribing Zeera in the nineties are still prescribing it today. They never had to find a replacement.

I
Thirty-one years of being recommended, re-bought, and passed from one person to the next. The formulas earned that standing by working — results people could feel, not just read. A reputation built that slowly is real, and it travels with the brand wherever it's sold.
II
We declare how much of each active ingredient is actually in the formula. A discipline still rare among general Syrian cosmetic producers — and the reason clinicians can recommend Zeera with confidence.
III
Moisturisers for acne and eczema. Panthenol creams for healing, burns, and scars. Shampoos for dandruff, children, dry, normal, and greasy hair. Pharmacy formulas — not luxury, not concept.
